If the US was able to force China to sell its stake in Long Beach Container Terminal on security grounds, then why can't we get control of Darwin, Newcastle and Melbourne ports back? An Australian company now owns Long Beach CT - Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets. Surely, we can find local financiers? After all, in 2015 China's Landbridge group only paid $500M for Darwin port on a 99 year lease. (Long Beach cost $1.8billion)
