THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS !
AND THEY WEREN”T EVEN HELPFUL IN THEIR ANSWERS TO COMMISSION QUESTIONS & IN FACT TRIED AT EVERY TURN TO PLAY DUMB, AVOID ANSWERING OR TO LAY THE BLAME ELSEWHERE !
What we cannot understand is how or why the AG, Mark Dreyfus, agreed to taxpayer funding of several ministers' legal fees.
It seems quite unfair for all of us to pay for these politician and public servant expenses when it was they whose actions led to the need for a Royal Commission!
We believe that the AG: 1. Must review such funding arrangements with a view to either removing them or drastically reducing them. 2. Must disclose the detailed costings so that we can see where the money went and why the amounts were so horrendous. 3. Furthermore, if found guilty of criminal offences or public service breaches, these witnesses should be forced to refund ALL expense monies to the national Treasury.
